Ben Padfield
I believe in ambition and accountability. I believe ambition leads to action. That action driven by accountability leads to achievement. And that ambitious achievement leads to accolade.
My experience from founding Cowboy Network taught me to make things happen; that anything is possible and to believe you can achieve the thing that everyone is telling you can’t be done.
The time I’ve spent working in integrated communications environments has taught me the power of the big idea and that there is always a “third way”.
The experience of being selected to stand in the 2005 elections for the Conservatives taught me how to build trust on the doorstep in 5 seconds; how to listen and how to put voters’ agendas first; that their problems were my problems to solve.
My love of film has taught me about the power of the story; about how to suspend reality and inspire belief through visual illustration.
My impending climb up Kilimanjaro has taught me that I’m stupid, idealistic and lost the wrong bet but also that a life without ambition is a life wasted and that satisfaction comes from an addiction to achieving the unlikely.
The sum of my experience has taught me to believe in cause-related-effort – that effort must result in action, impact and change. A belief that you don’t do things for the sake of it, or the way they’ve always been done...but for passion, progress and purpose.
And it’s that principle that I believe makes a difference in the lives of my clients, my team and my own.
