We put the Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers on the map
The Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers opened in November 2009 as one of the world’s greenest hotels. However the hotel wasn’t achieving the recognition it deserved, and so H+K Strategies was briefed to put the hotel on the map, and stimulate bookings.
To inspire worldwide interest in the hotel’s impressive sustainability credentials we created the world’s first ‘guest-powered hotel’, where guests could generate electricity for the hotel by pedalling on exercise bikes. The campaign brought the issue of sustainability to life, allowing hotel guests to consider their own impact on the environment, and potentially change their behaviour.
Our creative campaign inspired worldwide interest in the hotel from both consumers and competitors, and increased bookings by 27%. Targets were exceeded, with coverage reaching 80.2 million people worldwide, and generating an ROI of 60:1.
