Reaching hundreds of thousands of expats
H&K assisted HSBC Bank International in the planning, set up and implementation of a body of research called Expat Explorer. The survey took an in-depth look at the lives of people living and working abroad, shedding light on this unique community. Both the 2008 and 2009 studies were the largest independent surveys of expats in the world.
H&K helped HSBC Bank International to actively engage with expats via online media and communities, encouraging them to distribute and participate in the survey, then getting their feedback on the results. Hundreds of thousands of expats were reached by targeting these portals as well as launching an Expat Explorer Twitter website and separate blog to encourage interactive participation.
H&K identified key bloggers to target, leveraged the announcement online and worked with HSBC Bank International to create a video – available on YouTube - and podcast. Ongoing engagement continued with bloggers after the initial launch.
