Helping Statoil's voice be heard

Statoil approached us to try to help have a measure in the UK’s policy towards the development of off shore wind power changed. The UK Government had increased the number of Renewable Obligation Certificates but only to certain projects.

Working with Statoil, we developed messaging and the case to take to Government. We argued that the measure distorted the renewable energy market. We then helped Statoil make representations to the relevant Departments. We also helped them write a submission to DECC’s consultation on the renewables market.

In Pre-Budget Report, the Government delayed recognised the need to change their proposals, meaning that companies like Statoil are now competing on a level playing field.
