We helped Norwich Union get 3m kids active
The brainchild of Dame Kelly Holmes and the PM Gordon Brown, National School Sport Week - supported by Norwich Union - was a week-long celebration of school sport and PE. The main challenge was achieving cut through for Norwich Union given the week also involved government support (DSCF, DCMS, No10) which was managed by the Youth Sport Trust. H+K Strategies was tasked with generating positive media coverage around the week, which centred on Dame Kelly visiting numerous schools across the country.
The week-long campaign generated 13 pieces of National coverage and 98 pieces of Regional coverage with a total readership of 58,561,278. Additionally we tracked 15 TV, 52 Radio and 24 online pieces of coverage.
H+K Strategies also helped to get over 3 million children involved in PE and school sport activity around the country during the week as well as running a special competition on Norwich Union’s website searching for NSSW unsung heroes, who would enjoy a VIP day out at the London Grand Prix and realise the company’s pledge to support athletics from ‘playground to podium’.
