Channel 4’s Dispatches planned to air a programme claiming that personal details of UK consumers could be obtained fraudulently from India call centre workers. As the trade body that represents this industry in India, NASSCOM was concerned that the programme would ignore India’s exemplary security record compared to other countries around the world and try to present this as an “Indian” problem. The success of the campaign was measured by the muted response to the programme, a fact recognised in a personal thank you to H&K from the President of the NASSCOM organisation.
