Jaimie Brown

I started my career as a medical rep selling to doctors, nurses and pharmacists for three years before working my way up the career ladder with a number of drug companies. Various roles in pharma, consumer and animal health marketing allowed me to experience almost every aspect of the industry. The only way to understand what customers really think is achieved by actively listening to them. Having done that for around 15 years, I’ve worked mainly as a client and believe I understand what makes the difference between a good agency and a great agency; what we aim to provide for clients at H&K.

When I was based in New York with Pfizer, I spent half of my time travelling away from home to meet with European colleagues and the other half trying to maintain those relationships I’d built from half a world away. I’ve experienced first-hand the professional and personal pressures on those involved in modern-day, global organisations and appreciate what it takes to help make their jobs as stress-free as possible, be it by taking away their problems or bringing them tangible success.

Having sold medicines and value-added services to healthcare professionals for around 15 years, I’ve had more than my fair share of rejection. It always encourages me to seek new ways of solving old problems, although I won’t abandon a winning formula that is still proving successful.

I joined a professional choir at the age of eight and learned over many years how important it is to listen closely to those around you. I still use those skills today to help build cohesive teams and task myself with perfection for each and every performance. Doing anything really well requires time, commitment and lots of practise. I always approach my work with the same high level of care and attention, believing that it should be right first time and every time.
