Jan 14, 2008
Hill & Knowlton (H&K) has appointed Catherine Cross as Director of its flagship media training practice.
Cross, who has run her own media training business for the past eight years, has advised organisations such as Orange, 3, TNT, The London Assembly, Moneysupermarket.com, Nasdaq Europe, Anglian Water, Pernod Ricard, Abbey National, The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Bid Committee and the International Cricket Council.
As an Approved Trainer for the CIPR she has been running both its Media Training and Broadcast Media Awareness workshops for several years and has also recently advised The Foreign Office. She has also been running Presentation Training courses for the last ten years.
Commenting on her appointment, H&K’s Issues & Crisis Management MD Tim Luckett said: “Catherine is one of the top practitioners in her field and is the ideal person to run this part of the business. Her first task will be to expand our presentation training offer.”
A former BBC journalist, she worked as a reporter, producer and presenter on radio and TV, rising from local radio to helping launch an award-winning programme on the World Service. Cross was previously head of media training for Weber Shandwick.
Catherine added: “Joining H&K is an exciting opportunity and I am really looking forward to working with their range of clients. In my view, proper media training has never been so important.”
