Change: the magic pill?
Long term followers of my blog will know that I am often entertained / educated by Ben Goldacre and his Bad Science column. Ben frequently talks about our modern-day obsession with “magic” pills.
Given the easy choice of popping a pill versus the hard choice of exercising more, eating and drinking less crap… we will take the pill.
The problem is that we know that the pill won’t really work. It won’t be long-term. It won’t be sustainable. We know we really need to change our lifestyle.
Are you using social media to help with your product recall planning?
Here at Issues & Crisis Management central we’ve got a bit of a focus on product recalls at the minute, but so far haven’t looked at the adoption of social media as a communication tool that’s useful for this kind of challenge.

Solar power – friend or foe?
So following Larry Hagman’s (Dallas’ JR Ewing) switch to alternative energy with American solar panel company, SolarWorld, it seems solar is the hot topic of the summer!

Ol' blue eyes
Autumn: a new term for it?
Have you been thinking about buying a new pencil case lately? Or imagined tying a really fat knot in your tie? Well you’re not alone.
Today is the start of the new school term for most of the country and even if you don’t have kids the seasonal change will have a discernible effect. (I can’t be the only one.)
An alternative look at alternative energy?
This probably isn’t the first place you come for an art review, so imagine the surprise photographer Toby Smith is going to have when he investigates the latest link to his The Renewables Project and finds us here.
The Renewables Project is based on Toby’s hauntingly beautiful images of alternative energy sources in the Scottish Highlands – like this one (disclaimer: I don’t actually know what most of them are):
Edible curtains? I like…
I stumbled across a neat little initiative while perusing BusinessGreen during my lunch break – edible curtains. Yes. Not technically curtains, mind you, which was a little disappointing but I am still impressed.
